Everyone deserves to feel safe when using gym and leisure centre changing rooms, shower facilities and other private spaces.
The Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership is working with the It Does Matter Charity and has co-produced materials to help raise awareness, encourage conversations and promote understanding of safeguarding in leisure centres.
Voyeurism involves watching, recording or photographing someone without their consent where they expect privacy.
If you have experienced this, or witnessed it happening, you can report it.
Abbeycroft Mildenhall Hub and Ipswich Borough Council’s Crown Pools are working with us to launch the It Does Matter campaign. If you experience unwanted attention at one of these launch sites and would like to make the site aware of your concerns, please use the relevant reporting route below.

It Does Matter
Have you ever experienced a situation that made you feel uncomfortable?
From being watched by a stranger to receiving indecent exposure pictures online, these behaviours are crimes and can lead to an escalation in offending, including rape and assault.
Reporting them helps protect the whole community.
As a charity our purpose is to educate, empower and support individuals, communities and organisations to recognise, respond to and stand against non-contact sexual offences.

Why are changing room privacy concerns taken seriously?
Because privacy breaches can cause significant harm to the people impacted and may constitute criminal behaviour.
What should I do if I witness inappropriate behaviour in a changing room?
Report concerns immediately to venue staff and, where appropriate, the police.
What should leisure providers do when concerns are reported?
Take reports seriously, follow safeguarding procedures and involve police where necessary.

Leisure providers should follow their own policies regarding mobile devices to help maintain privacy and safety.
